Tassel Twirler

I’m not ready to let go of the summer just yet which is why this week I’m drinking tequila! As things start to cool off, this cocktail brings me back to those hot, sweaty, balmy nights that will be a distant memory in a few months. I use reposado tequila here, giving the cocktail a rounder, softer flavor and don’t leave out the salt…Salt pulls out and elongates all of those yummy sweet and sour flavors in the drink that will have you tassel twirling all night long!

You’ll need:

1 1/4 oz reposado tequila

1/4 oz lime juice

1/4 oz orange liqueur (eg. Cointreau)

1/4 oz grapefruit juice

1/2 oz Luxardo Cherry liqueur

Salt

*Optional but highly recommended: Campari (approx. 1/2 oz)

How to:

Salt the rim of a rocks glass buy first wetting the rim with a lime wedge and then rolling the moist part of the glass in salt. Combine ingredients except Campari with ice. Shake and strain into the salted rocks glass fill with ice. Now pour the Campari on top and behold your beautiful creation! Garnish with a lime wheel and cherry for an extra pretty factor.
