The Flying Wards were an illustrious aerialist group thrilling circus audiences everywhere. Jennie and her brother Eddie first started practicing in their mother’s yard working between their apple trees. Jennie as born in 1889 (the same year as Mabel Stark www.mabeltigermovie.com) in Illinois. Eddie’s future wife Mayne would design wardrobe for Sally Rand (Feuding Fan Dancers, to be published October of 2018)

I chose this Jenne Ward Appletini. Jennie and her brother Eddie began their career swinging from the Apple trees in their backyard in Illinois. If you pour yourself one of these cocktails you too can breathe in the sweet and tart Apple aroma and as this elixir takes hold you will be able to easily imagine yourself flying alongside Eddie and Jennie as they soar through the air with the greatest of ease. The Jennie Ward High Flying Appletini

1 oz Vodka
1 oz Sour Apple Pucker
Splash of Lemon
Splash of Apple Juice
Green Apple Rimming Candy I used Kencraft
Ice
Sliced Green Apple for garnish

Gently run a slice of lemon around the rim of a martini glass and dredge in rimming candy.

Fill martini shaker with ice. Pour in Vodka, Sour Apple Pucker, Apple Juice, and lemon.

Shake well and pour into martini glass.

Then Soar!!
