Shimmy Shake

THE FLIP TEASE

THE FLIP TEASE

Two of my favorite low-alcohol cocktails, the Aperol Spritz and Sloe Gin Flip have a baby! This cocktail is frothy and fun and tastes like a boozy creamsicle. Perfect for a early afternoon treat or those times you want a cocktail without getting too light in the head….Enjoy!

Ingredients:
2 oz of Aperol
1 oz Fresh lemon juice
3/4 oz Vanilla Simple Syrup
1 Egg White (don’t be afraid, it doesn’t taste like eggs! The egg white simply gives the drink a creamy, frothy texture)
Splash Soda Water
Optional: Orange Flower Water

Method:

Gather one egg white, Aperol, Lemon and Vanilla Syrup in a shaker but do NOT add ice. Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds to get mixture fluffy and bouncy. Bartenders call this a “dry shake” (shaking without ice!) Next, add a scoop of ice to your shaker and shake again only for about 5 seconds this time. Transfer the contents, ice and all, to a Collins Glass and top with a little splash of soda water and watch as the frothy head fluffs up even more! Garnish with an orange twist and a spritz of orange flower water.

**Drinker Beware**
This cocktail may be low in alcohol but it goes down so easily you’ll probably want more than one!

To Make Vanilla Simple Syrup:
In a saucepan gently heat 1 cup of water and one cup of sugar with two sticks of vanilla. Stir until sugar is dissolved and remove from heat to sit and let cool. Once cool remove the vanilla sticks and transfer into a cute sealable bottle.
