She is the “definition of burlesque.” Miss Dirty Martini, is one of the most celebrated personalities in the world of the new burlesque. She has been photographed by Karl Lagerfeld, Starred in the film On Tour -winner Best Director at Cannes 2010 – co-stars in Dita VonTeese’s touring show Strip Strip Hooray and voted number one burlesque performer in the world by her fans for four consecutive years! Miss Martini has spearheaded the new burlesque revolution in New York City and all over the world with her over the top physique and classical dance training bringing vintage glamour into the 21st century.

 

New York Magazine named her “the Sexpot Sophisticate” and the NY Daily News described her performance as “The decadent expression of female sensuality in action”. The New York Times proclaimed her “One of the most creative strippers.” She holds the title of The Reigning Queen of Burlesque – Miss Exotic World 2004. She has headlined many international burlesque festivals and maintains a busy touring schedule in the USA and abroad.

 

Miss Martini is a sought after “Burl-expert” in the written press and television and is featured in almost every book written about the New Burlesque Revolution. Dita Von Teese brought her on tour to co-star in her show “Strip Strip Hooray.” Miss Martini currently tours internationally with The Cabaret New Burlesque featured in the film “Tournee” directed by Mathieu Amalric (Winner of the Palme D’Or for Best Director and the International Film Critics Award 2010.

 

Miss Martini has taught her acclaimed workshops on burlesque in New York, Paris, London, Atlanta, Seattle and Toronto and as far away as New Caledonia in the South Pacific. Miss Martini holds a BFA in Dance and Choreography from Purchase College and uses her extensive knowledge of dance and dance history in her teaching career.

 

Miss Martini returns to her home town of New York City, she can be seen in a variety of fine shows with her good friends at NY’s home of burlesque, The Slipper Room, Coney Island’s famous Sideshow and museum, and with acclaimed comedian “Mr. Showbiz” Murray Hill. Look for her in John Cameron Mitchell’s film “Shortbus”, Scissor Sister’s music video “Filthy Gorgeous” and a two documentary films about her influence in the creation of New Burlesque in America. One film entitled “Dirty Martini and the New Burlesque” by Gary Beeber, and the other by acclaimed “No Wave” film maker Beth B., “Exposed” are film festival favorites.
